News 4Real July 06

THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVOURATE PICTURES I TOOK IN NIGERIA.

WHO SAYS IT SUCKS BEING A PIG :-)

Its almost a month since I came back from Nigeria. I must admit I am really blessed to have been part of the School of Video Production (SVP) in Media Village Nigeria. It was great to experience a culture different to the one I am used to. My host Anne and Alex were super amazing. They really know how to make one feel welcomed. I literally felt like I was a prince :-) I did a bit of teaching, had the honour of being cast in Nigerian movie and also did some editing work that went on TV. I don't know about you but that is what I call a trip well spent.

When I came back to South Africa the video production school had already started and I had to change gears for that. They are about 23 students from all over the world. Its awesome yet again to meet people from different countries and being able to make new friends with them.

I have just finished editing the Global Day of Prayer Transformation Video. The client came and was happy with the job and that put a smile on my face. A few editing work is coming while list juggling with the work load of SVP.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support. Please do stay in contact whenever possible. I would love to hear from you.

God Bless and keep it Tight 4Real...

Media Village Nigeria

Media Village Nigeria is part of the international ministry called Youth With A Mission (YWAM). It was started by Anne Abok who studied with us in South Africa (Media Village Africa). They are currently running the School of Video Production (SVP) which gives students excellent technical skills that range from camera work, to lighting, sound, script writing and editing.

With a focus on capturing stories of the Nigeria and Africa as a whole they want to deliver a message of hope through Jesus Christ. Films and short videos have the power to impact our nations and communicate God's heart. It is with regard that Anne decided to start a Media Village focused on training young people in her country.

The School of Video Production is the key to unlocking the door of young people's imagination. Hence Media Nigeria run its first school last year 2005 with great success. This year the second school is already in session. Unfortunately with pioneering a new school and ministry comes with difficulties and Anne has had to work very hard in making sure she covers all areas to make this year's school a success again. At the moment she has a very low number of staff members in her team. Hence she has asked me come and help her in the area of Post Production and teaching of editing and other elements involved in Post Production for three weeks. So I hope to go to Nigeria in June and help her out. If in anyway you can help make this possible please do contact me through my email and let me know. Your prayers and financial support will be appreciated.

It has been said that minds of millions of people are influenced by the dreams and visions of one creative producer or director. Media Village Nigeria hopes to create a generation of young people who will influence Africa as a whole with the good news of Jesus. So join me in making this possible.

'lonely and deserted'

MY 'LONELY & DESERTED COMPANION THIS MORNING'

I am sure by now you have once in your lifetime experienced some form of sleepless night ordea. Be it you stressed over something specific in your mind, overly excited by prospects for the future, maybe you have too much caffeine flowing through your veins and more likely you madly in love with someone and all your head is filled with is that one mortal that makes your heart pound louder than the djembe drums. Well it is 2:08hrs Wednesday morning and I am struggling to sleep. I am feeling slightly sickish for lack of a better term to describe it, so 'la la land' seems but a distant dream at this moment. What better way to pass the time than making an entry into, as someone put it, my 'lonely and deserted' blog.

The strangest universal occurrence whenever someone is struggling to sleep is to go straight into the kitchen and make themselves some 'killer sandwich' and go straight in front of the television set hoping you will get bored by late night CNN news and slowly drift to sleep. In my case I have done the former and almost the latter although of course I am sitting in front of a computer and typing some 'ob' entry of which I have no idea were is going to.

Another occurrence waking up in the middle of the night is you tend to do things you otherwise do not have enough time to do during the day. Like say read a devotional from your favorite website (www.jesusfreakshideout.com). However you also tend to see your mind drifting to some other important elements of your life, like say for example: thinking of your 'super gorgeous amazing girlfriend'. Now I have fell into both those two categories this morning and I will share briefly on both of them.

Starting with the 'devotional' element. I have just read a devotional titled:"The Driver's Seat". It talks of allowing God to be the main dude controlling your life at all times as opposed to you always making the decisions and only trying to get him to validate all nonsensical decision you have already made. As the theme verse speaks for its self: "Anyone who intends to come with Me has to let Me lead. You're not in the driver's seat--I am." Luke 9:23 MSG I was left in no doubt that at times I have constantly taking the lord off the drivers seat and like a learner driver without an instructor. I have crashed into objects around me and afterwards I still have the nerve to blame my instructor for my waywardness........ Jesus said, "I do nothing without consulting the Father." (John 5:30 NLT) The Amplified translation makes the Savior's intentions even clearer by stating: "I do not seek or consult My own will [I have no desire to do what is pleasing to Myself, My own aim, My own purpose] but only the will and pleasure of the Father Who sent Me....So I am left with no doubt that we at all times need to be aware of the driver in the front seat before the vehicle is in motion. So that is my devotion moment this morning.

Last in relation to thoughts this morning on my 'super amazing gorgeous girlfriend' I can only say I greatly appreciate her for being part of my life and I am so grateful that she keeps my arrogance in check at all time.

As for my my 'lonely and deserted' blog. I will try to pay attention to you as often as I can. Now I need to go and try to get a VISA to la la land otherwise I am in big trouble staying awake tomorrow morning during working hours.
